Currie Wayne Clayton, Jr.
Currie’s love of music started at a very young age. From a family of avid musicians, he began playing the drums when he was only 3 years old. When he was 15 he picked up his older sister’s guitar determined to learn how to play and has been unable to put it down since. Currie has played in various bands through the years and has traveled the mid-west and the east coast entertaining audiences on a professional level for over 15 years. He tried unsuccessfully on several occasions to work 8-5 jobs but his love of music always pulled him back into the entertainment industry.
Currently, Currie can be seen performing up and down the east coast appearing individually, with a trio or with his full band Currie Clayton & Last Call.
His incredible guitar playing never fails to amaze audiences and the variations in his genre of music range from the Eagles to Tim McGraw to Metallica. His performances also include originals, all of which are written from his heart and from personal experiences through his life’s journey. His first CD was released in September of 2003 and is entitled Carolina Red Mud and dedicated to the memory of his father Currie Wayne Clayton, Sr. who passed suddenly in May 2003.
Through each triumph and disappointment Currie has found solace in his guitar and his music.
